Zac Shaw will not be at this year’s Paralympic Games
SPRINTER Zac Shaw has spoken of his disappointment after being overlooked for selection for this year’s Paralympic Games.
The Grimsby athlete had high hopes of getting the nod for the Games, which will be held in Rio, Brazil, in two months.
The visually-impaired runner is now facing up to the fact that he will not be a part of the Team GB track and field squad that heads to South America.
Speaking via twitter, Shaw said that today is “possibly the toughest day of my life.”
He added that he is heartbroken that all his effort in training has not paid off on this occasion.
However, he sounds an upbeat note by acknowledging he is “just at the start of the long journey.”
