ZAC Shaw continued his progress with a medal-winning performance in a high-quality contest.
The Cleethorpes AC Paralympic hopeful was in action at the BUCS (British University and Colleges Sport) Championships in Bedford.
The visually-impaired sprinter’s main aim this year is selection for the Rio Games.
But before that, he needs to earn his place in the Team GB squad – and he took another step towards doing that last weekend.
First, he competed in the able-bodied 100m race on the Saturday.
He clocked a wind-assisted 11.28 seconds, which would have been a personal best if not for the illegal wind reading of +2.3m/s.
He just missed out on a place in the semi-finals in what was a tough heat.
Then, the next day, he took part in the Para version of the 100m. He took the gold with a solid time of 11.50 seconds.
